The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine paired with an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to the rear wheels.

The SLR Roadster is built around a carbon-fiber monocoque with integrated crash structures and features a front-mid-engine layout. Developed in collaboration with McLaren, the design combines advanced materials with distinctive supercar proportions.

Exterior features include upward-opening butterfly doors, a power-operated soft top, xenon headlights, integrated fog lights, side-exit exhaust outlets positioned behind the front wheels, an electronically deployed rear spoiler functioning as an air brake, and a rear diffuser. The car rides on asymmetrical turbine-style alloy wheels.

The braking system consists of carbon-ceramic disc brakes at all four corners, supported by advanced electronic brake control. The chassis emphasizes high-speed stability and performance-focused engineering.

The interior features carbon-fiber bucket seats trimmed in leather, along with leather-covered surfaces across the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Additional equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio system, and aluminum and carbon-fiber interior trim elements.

Instrumentation includes analog gauges with a high-speed speedometer, a centrally positioned tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for key vehicle systems. Steering wheel-mounted shift paddles allow manual gear selection.
